DURAFLEX STANDS - TECHNICAL DOCUMENTS

Duraflex short stands have fulcrum units identical to the 1-meter and 3-meter stands, and similar handrails and anchoring units. They are designed for use on concrete pedestals or platforms, with the use of 6 x Duraflex Bronze Anchors, at either 1-meter or 3-meter level.

Short stands can be ordered with no handrails, or with handrails both sides. If a short stand is ordered with no handrails it is recommended that the pedestal or platform be designed with handrails.

SPECIFICATIONS: The diving stand anchor and fulcrum assembly “short stand” is designed for mounting on a concrete, steel, or other field-fabricated diving platform. The diving stand consists of heavy aluminum castings finished with epoxy powder-coating. The roller and tracks are heat treated and hard-anodized extruded aluminum. The bearings for the roller tube and slide are Teflon/polymer with grease path. The diving board anchor hinges are heat treated aluminum forgings with a design tensile strength of 35,000 psi and are hard anodized. The diving board anchor bolts are custom short-neck 5/8” diameter by 3 1/2” long stainless steel carriage bolts, specially designed to work on the Duraflex diving boards. The diving stand is supplied either without handrails, or with top and intermediate hand rails on two sides. The diving stand handrails are 304 stainless steel tubing, firmly attached to the hand rail supports with stainless steel rail clamps. The rails extend to the edge of the swimming pool and the rail ends are fitted with safety tips. The stand is designed for mounting on new concrete platforms with the use of 6 x Duraflex Bronze Deck Anchors, or with the Insert kit.

The 1-meter Duraflex stand is supplied with top and intermediate handrails on both sides. Due to varying pool deck to water levels, the 1-meter structures are manufactured in five different heights so it is important to complete a pre-installation questionnaire prior to ordering.

SPECIFICATIONS: The 1-meter Duraflex stand is one meter height, +/- 5%. The 1-meter Duraflex stand consists of heavy aluminum castings coated with epoxy paint. The roller and tracks are heat treated, hard-anodized extruded aluminum. The bearings for the roller and slide are Teflon/polymer with grease path. The diving board anchor hinges are heat treated aluminum forgings with a design tensile strength of 35,000 psi and are hard anodized. Hinges are mounted on a transverse casting allowing 6 leveling positions in one inch increments. The diving board anchor bolts are custom short-neck 5/8” diameter by 3 1/2” long stainless steel carriage bolts. The 1-meter Duraflex stand is supplied with top and intermediate hand rails on two sides. The handrails are 304 stainless steel tubing firmly attached to the handrail supports with stainless steel rail clamps. The rails extend to the edge of the swimming pool and the rail ends are fitted with safety tips. The 1-meter Duraflex stand is designed for mounting on new decks with the use of 8 x Duraflex Bronze Deck Anchors; or on existing decks, mounting with 8 x through rods (if workspace below), or 8 x Hilti stainless steel threaded inserts.

The 3-meter Duraflex stand is only available in one model: handrails on both sides. The main support assembly is manufactured in 3 different heights, and the ladder assembly is manufactured in 13 different heights to accommodate deck level to water level dimensions of 0” to 13” (+/- 2 3/8”).

The 3-meter Duraflex stands are manufactured from similar components as the 1-meter stands. Many structural components are interchangeable, such as complete fulcrum assemblies, and anchor hinge assemblies. All structural components are individually coated with epoxy paint. The most important single feature of the 3-meter Duraflex is the simple 8 point deck anchorage, which requires no special footings, and can be installed on an existing deck, if concrete is of good quality and no less than 5” thick.

The handrails are fabricated of stainless steel tubing and are secured to the structure with quick assembly stainless steel rail clamps. All fulcrum bearings are nylon and the fulcrum box can be adjusted to account for wear. There are grease fittings mounted on the roller blocks for the roller and slide bearings. The anchor fitting assembly is adjustable vertically in seven two thirds-inch increments which simplifies leveling of the board on different deck slopes.
